WHY CHOOSE ORGANIC?
Orgranic Turf Care
Green Line Organics specializes in all natural organic turf care programs that enhance your property and are safe for your family, pets and the environment. We work with you, because what we do (organic materials) is as important as what you do (cultural practices - i.e. proper mowing, watering, etc.). Through the use of organic materials and cultural practices you can establish a dense lawn that crowds out weeds, is more drought and insect tolerant and lower maintenance.

What is wrong with chemical fertilizers?
There is growing concern that synthetic (chemical) fertilizers and pesticides pose health and environmental risks. Not only are they harmful to you, the chemicals can kill both good and bad organisms in the soil. Your grass becomes dependent on the chemicals to grow rather than getting its nutrients from the soil.
The Building Blocks for Beautiful Grass is in the Soil
Grass requires a certain environment to grow and what goes on under the ground directly affects what you see above the ground. Green Line Organics sends a soil sample to a laboratory to test soil: pH, buffer pH (reserve acidity), Cation Exchange Capacity, and % Organic Matter (OM). You will receive the results from the soil test along with recommendations on the amount, type of additional soil amendments and final cost. Armed with the results of a soil test a plan can be formulated to create the healthy environment your grass requires.
Organic Fertilizer
Organic fertilizers feed the soil and let the soil feed the plant. Green Line Organics uses All Natural Fertilizers that are plant based:
- Soybean Based. No manure or sludge
- Low phosphorous fertilizer used near water
- No contact problem for people or pets
- Does not leach or run off into waterways
- Adds Organic Matter
- No burning, slow release (lasts 7-10 weeks)
- Superior performance in testing at Iowa State University

How Long Will it Take To See Results?
This will vary based on current conditions, past practices, how aggressive you want to be and your budget. A soil test will help to answer this question. The first 2 - 3 years are typically a time of transition as we work to improve soil conditions. As the need for soil amendments decreases you will begin to see results.
Does organic cost more?
When comparing prices it’s important to look at cost per season rather than per/application since the products and program aren’t the same. It may cost more at first – organic products usually do. Overtime your costs will go down, your lawn will require, fewer amendments, less water, and less mowing. Most importantly the health and environmental risks are eliminated!
Will my lawn have weeds?
Most all lawns will have weeds to some degree but they do not need to take over. Weeds are an indication of other conditions in the soil. Our goal is to correct the soil conditions and provide an environment that favors growing grass over weeds. Since we are unable to control the great outdoors, weeds will always be battling for a place in your lawn. An all-natural turf care program stands a better chance of out competing the weeds and can look terrific!
